Levodopa

Myths, Facts, and the Future

Experts discuss key treatment aspects of Parkinson’s disease, specifically, the impact of Levodopa. The discovery of Levodopa remains one of the most remarkable breakthroughs in the treatment of any neurologic disease, yet the early recognition of potential side effects of long-term treatment has had both good and bad effects.

On the positive side, we have embarked on the search for improved therapies and have made enormous progress in developing better modes of Levodopa delivery and more effective treatments of Levodopa related complications. On the negative side, there remain many misconceptions about Levodopa and the most effective treatment of the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease is often delayed, feared, and inappropriately avoided.

Understanding your symptoms

Parkinson’s disease is more than just tremors

Parkinson's disease (PD) is commonly associated with tremors and slowness of movement. But in addition to understanding such motor symptoms, it is important to understand that PD can cause a variety of nonmotor complications, some of which might occur even before the patient is diagnosed.

Our educational videos and additional content are designed to provide you with information explaining the various symptoms associated with PD, including motor and nonmotor symptoms, and ranging from the time of diagnosis to many years later. The Panorama Patient Network, LLC allows you to learn from trusted experts by watching them in their discussions with patients with PD.
